 Advice <60

Living in the pandemic disease your thoughts are more on health and healthy life style. Around 60 you have tried different diets avoiding different food groups. In the last 5 months I have given up my low fat diet and have eaten small amount of red meat as well.  It is fact the low fat processed foods have more additives than their fatty contra-pairs. Use butter instead of margarine! Eat natural sustenance. If it is possible do not purchase processed food and because of the pandemic do not eat and drink out! Make your own dishes using fresh ingredients and bake your bread as well. In this case you know the origins of the ingredients and they have been produced up to your hygienic standard. Eating home made food has a great advantage because you can choose the vast variety of different ingredients, which provide the right amount of nutrients required for a healthy body. You do not need to use dietary supplements because I believe the variation of different good quality foods supply the body with the required vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fat and proteins. For healthy heart your meal should consist of plenty of fruits, vegetables, fibre and fish.

Construction of eating plan is important because you can control the daily income of the essential nutrients and you can control the calorie intake avoiding obesity. 70-80 % of your daily menu should consist of raw food. Eat colourful food! Phytonutrients are natural compounds found in vegetables, fruit, whole grain products and legumes. These chemicals may help prevent disease and keep your body working properly.
Over 60 the active lifestyle is important, frequent exercise can help boost energy, maintain your independence, and manage symptoms of illness or pain. Regular workout can strengthen bones and muscles, making you more resistant to injuries from falls. This in turn can help lengthen lifespan. Exercise can even reverse some of the symptoms of aging.   Work out is also good for your mind, mood, and memory. Physical exercise gets the blood moving, the brain stimulated, and the heart going all of which are good for your cognitive functions. The main benefit of doing outdoor activities, even for a short period of time is being able to absorb the sunlight, which generates vitamin D.

Now you have to enjoy life eating low quantity and high quality of foods unless your health condition requires differently.

We are living in pandemic time so keep the essential rules in your mind: avoid   crowded places, use face-mask, keep your distance and wash your hands regularly.  Take every day as a challenge and enjoy it.
