Natural Foods Cause and Effect
Summer in North America is full of summer sports, warm weather, a sense of renew and produce galore. Produce? Not Ice Cream, Carmel Corn, Fair Food with deep fried everything? Wow, Produce. Coming from one that has vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and fruit bushes one would think that summer means good local foods. Why is it, the Cookie wins? Is it lack of will power? Let's face it junk food is a real addiction lead by the sugar that has a deep hold on too many people. Yes, including me.
Midwest rural living has a different culture than metropolitan populations. I had enlisted the advice of a Certified Iridologist a couple of years back. One of the bigger problems she wanted to treat was my gut because your gut is where your immune system does its best thing which is eliminating waste that our bodies should not contain. Another factor was getting my body from acidic to alkaline. This is not easily done when daily sugared food reins. In 2013 I eliminated sugar for eight months. Although weight loss was minimal at best, I did feel better. For five months I also eliminated gluten. The weight came off easily. In our house the "he cooks" and the "she cleans" was a struggle for the new food choices.
Well you probably guessed there was a trigger point. I attended a holiday meal that I did not want to attend. I was very uncomfortable sitting with relatives I was not related to. In came the most delectable homemade cookies with homemade icing. We have all heard the potato chip commercial "you can't have just one". And so it was and had been for too long.
It had been an up hill battle to eliminate gluten when the "he cooks" loves breads and pasta. The cost was excessive to eliminate sugar and gluten. It does cost more to eat healthier foods. I use Xylitol, a natural sweetener derived from Non-GMO corn and birch. I have used Xylitol in pies, jams, jellies and homemade heath bar candy with 100% cacao. Xylitol does have calories, but it is much better for your health.

I have a skeletal structure full of arthritis. I also have allergies. Sugar is one of the worse foods to use because it feeds Candida which is the underlying cause of arthritis, allergies and a host of many other chronic conditions. Sugar feeds cancer. The Midwest is heavily saturated with carcinogen producing manufacturing facilities. When you account for toxic water supplies, air and soil, the added sugar seals your premature fate of early death and suffering. With proper diet and exercise you can beat these ailments.
Many including me, don't know all of the ways to prepare natural foods in a fashion that tastes great and looks good enough to eat. Once you start using the recipes for natural foods, you will start to notice that the natural foods start tasting better. We as a society have accepted sugar laden & chemical altered foods because we "consumers" did not know how bad some of the foods on shelves and at restaurants really were. Eventuality, your body will crave the good foods. Once your body is clean from the added chemicals and sugars it will reject fast greasy and surgery foods.
Knowing how destructive sugar is, I still crave it. I remember watching a show when a recovering addict stated I'm still addicted I am just not using. For me sugar is that addiction. The Iridologist I had seen stressed the importance of natural pesticide free and antibiotics free foods. We grow enough plant foods for our two person household, children, grandchildren and to share with many neighbors. The Iridologist also stressed that honey unpasteurized was a must and added to use it sparingly. Honey has a very long shelf life. According to experts, honey can last hundreds and possibly thousands of years. Honey is a perfect food. We are lucky enough to have bee keepers close to us. For the past couple of years as many as seventy five percent of bee populations were lost. It is dire that we not use pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. The truth is that those who try for the perfect lawn are contributing to the decline of our bee population. The bees need clover, dandelions, and other wild flowers to sustain their continued growth. Farmers that plant soybeans and corn have also contributed to the decline of the bee population because soybeans and corn do not have nectar for bees.
Folks, when there are no more bees our food chain will be slim. It is ever important that we grow what we can in an Eco Green way. It is also important that we purchase from and support our local growers and farmers. With natural recipes you will have no more excuses not to eat healthy with natural fruits, vegetables and grass-fed livestock. It seems ironic that there are a multitude of books with recipes to support healthier diets when the environment around us is declining.
The Pyramid of natural foods is really what all people should consume. By using recipes with natural foods, you and your body will have the immune fighting and sustenance fulfilling diet. The natural foods should come from your local growers and local farmers. You should always make sure that meats come from animals that are grass-fed without chemically treated or altered grass. The "Corporate" concept of sending our products out of the country and importing products from other countries for the sake of profit needs to stop. Granted, some crops cannot be grown here and a percentage of peoples would die of starvation if other countries did not come to their aid. In America eat what is grown locally to you, and use recipes designed for natural foods to prepare great meals.
Knowing how bad sugar is should be a top priority to eliminate it from foods in the United States
